Our core stabiliser muscles are foundation to our overall strength, much like the foundations of a building. Without the ability to activate our core stabilising muscles we would rely heavily on our mobilising muscles such as our rectus abdominals or ‘6-pack’.
Core can be trained in numerous ways from Pilates to weight training to swimming and dancing our core stabilising muscles are activated.
Why do we train our core?
One of the reasons we train our core is usually due to injury, predominantly the back and neck but this shouldn’t be the only reason.
There are numerous benefits to training the core muscles.
These benefits include:
- Increased abdominal strength,
- Help alleviate back pain,
- Reduce neck pain
- Improve posture
- Improve balance
- Combat time sat at a desk!
Our Complete Core Conditioning classes are a non-aerobic session focussing on core strength with use of various equipment as well as bodyweight to performing traditional moves that help activate and strengthen the core.
Where are the classes taking place?
Classes will take place on Friday at 3:30pm at our Rehabilitation Centre.

How long is each class?
They will last 40 minutes and cost £8 per person.
Attend 8 sessions and get your 9th session free.
What should you bring?
Bring with you a refillable water bottle and wear clothes suitable for exercising and are comfortable.
